whowhatwhere
design*kung-fu is written by the german architect and photographer Nils Koenning.
Born and educated in the town of Bochum, Germany, I grew up in the fast, ever changing environment of the former coal mining area “Ruhrgebiet”. In 1996, parts of my family migrated to Australia. Since then, I’m travelling back and forth between both continents.
The purpose of the blog is to share and publish my views, feelings, emotions and ideas about anything I feel like bragging about. So first of all, this blog is for me. Sometimes even about me – with insight in the architecture and creative scene of both worlds, Australia and Germany, I have a lot of interesting things to say. Staying in tune with my current lifestyle, design*kung-fu is bilingual, German and English. However, it wont just be plain, boring translation of the same posts. The English side of the blog will focus strongly on developments outside of Australia with a firm focus on Europe and Germany, whereas the German side will focus on the English speaking world with a focus on Australia.
The opinions expressed on design*kung-fu are my own; they do not reflect the views of employers, publishers, editors, friends, or colleagues, with whom this blog is not affiliated.
